US Army defines next level of networking

The US military is waiting for its turn Integrated Tactical Network (ITN) to include next generation systems in future capability plans.

ITN incorporates all existing military communications infrastructure and adds new commercial solutions to expand scope, capacity and resilience.

The military said this includes single-channel commercial radio stations with advanced waveforms; high capacity visibility radios; voice gateways and data; tactical cross-domain solutions; small aperture satellite terminals; forwarding servers; variable height antennas (via drone with quadcopter); and 4G commercial technology, plus connected accessories.
