TwinRX mil-std software defined radio

WATERLOO, Ontario – Pixus Technologies, a provider of embedded computing solutions and enclosure solutions, has developed robust commercial versions software defined radio stations. The latest in the series is the RX310-2, which has standard commercially available TwinRX daughter cards from Ettus Research.

The RX310-2 allows one or two TwinRX daughter cards to be installed in the chassis. TwinRX is a dual-channel superheterodyne receiver that offers wide dynamic range and precise phase synchronization with local oscillator (LO) sharing for spectrum monitoring and direction finding. A GPS disciplined oscillator is optional, as are versions with 1 UBX daughter card and 1 TwinRX. UBX is a wide-loop broadband transceiver that covers frequencies from 10 MHz to 6 GHz.

Pixus installs the motherboard and motherboard configurations in a rugged, weatherproof case that features an IP67 seal for water and dust penetration. The conductive cooled chassis is also optionally designed for MIL-STD-810 for shock / vibration and MIL-STD-461 for EMI. Lightweight, robust versions of the RX310 series with fans and filtration are available on request.

The I / O panel for the RX310 is modular, allowing you to use different customization options. The RX310 series can be used in various types in the air, ships, land vehicles or external structures. Exemplary applications include SIG-INT, spectrum monitoring, passive RADAR, smart farming, smart energy and advanced wireless standards prototyping systems.
