Elbit Systems delivers 600,000th E-LynX SDR to Swedish Army

Israeli space and defense company Elbit Systems delivered the 600,000th E-LynX Software Defined Radio (SDR) system. to the Swedish Defense Materiel Administration (Försvarets materielverk – FMV).

Seen as a major delivery milestone, the shipment was part of the Tactical Ground Radio (TGR) program to equip the Swedish Armed Forces with the latest and most secure communications systems.

The E-LynX system is a high-frequency tactical radio system developed to meet a wide range of complex communications requirements of today’s battlefield forces.

It follows an open architecture approach and features unique waveforms to allow acceptance of European and NATO waveforms.

The fifth iteration of the device is designed to provide advanced, fast, secure and instant communications capabilities for soldiers.

It can simultaneously transmit voice, data and video files over any terrain to support innovative and multi-domain digitization systems.

The armed forces of Switzerland, Spain and several other NATO countries have previously used the E-LynX system.

Elbit Systems General Manager of C4I & Cyber ​​​​Haim Delmar said: “Delivery of the 600,000th operational radio is a unique and exciting milestone that underlines Elbit Systems’ position as a global market leader and as an advanced technology communication and radio station for more than 55 years .”

Elbit received its first contract to supply E-LynX systems to the Swedish Army in 2016.

Initial deliveries of E-LynX radios to the Swedish Armed Forces under the TGR program began in 2018, followed by subsequent subsequent contracts.

In July 2020 Elbit received a subsequent performance award more than 1,000 additional SDRs in portable and vehicle configurations for Swedish forces.

This order was fulfilled by the German subsidiary of the company Elbit Systems Deutschland.

The following year, Elbit received another $23 million order to supply more E-LynX SDRs in two-channel vehicle configurations, as well as vehicle configurations in multi-channel, full-duplex technology.
