LIG Nex1 has told asianmilitaryreview.com that he hopes the government of the Republic of Korea (ROK) will decide which tactical radios to purchase for the ROK military (A YEAR) by the end of the year.

Speaking on February 21 at the International Defense Expo (IDEX), held in Abu Dhabi, company officials revealed that they believe the ROK government will decide on the tactical radios being purchased by the force by the end of this year.

The company offers several radios as part of its Tactical Multiband Multirole Radio (TMMR) family, including its SDR-H handheld, SDR-V automotive and SDR-P transceivers. All of these Very/Ultra High Frequency (V/UHF: 30 megahertz to three gigahertz) radios are in progress to meet ROKA’s requirements for new tactical radios in the handheld, automotive and handheld domains. The firm said it expects new car radios to be installed in the ROKA armored vehicle fleet. Adding that he envisages equipping company commanders with transceivers and platoon commanders with hand-held radios.
