Bittium Tactical Wireless IP Network(TM)

Bittium Tactical Wireless IP Network (TAC WON) is a software defined radio (SDR) based wireless broadband network system designed for military and public safety use. With the MANET (mobile ad hoc network) system, links and interconnect networks can be quickly formed into one logical IP network regardless of location. Bittium TAC WIN is compatible with existing fixed and wireless network infrastructures. The core of the system is a tactical router that allows users to freely form both wired and wireless broadband IP data connections. The tactical router also allows connections to different types of terminals and other communication systems to connect them into a single communication network. In addition to the router, the system consists of three types of radio heads, each radio head covering its own frequency band and can be used to flexibly form optimized network topologies for different communication needs. All system products are designed for harsh environments, and thanks to the system’s automated features, system deployment is quick. Due to the software-based functionality of the Bittium TAC WIN system, it can be easily updated with additional performance, allowing it to be developed and maintained cost-effectively throughout the life of the system.
