Elbit Systems wins contract to tactical radio systems

Elbit Systems has secured a contract to provide automotive tactical radio systems to the army of a South Asian country whose identity has not been revealed.

Under the $ 127 million contract, Elbit will supply the radios in several configurations over a three-year period.

The radios will be integrated on board armored combat vehicles and tanks at the battalion and company level.

Elbit Systems President and CEO Bezhalel (Buci) Mahlis said: “We are pleased with this award, which shows that customers recognize the benefits of our radio systems.

“We believe that there is significant potential for growth in our communication and command and control solutions as the armed forces increasingly seek to build their networked military capabilities.”

The Israeli financial daily Globes reported that the radio stations under the contract were likely to be delivered to the Indian military, citing unnamed market sources.

Last July, the Indian Defense Council approved the purchase of 4,900 Tadiran radios for the Indian Army’s T-72 and T-90 tanks.

Elbit offers a range of tactical communication systems within the E-LynX family, which is based on advanced software-defined radio (SDR) technology.

The range includes the E-Lynx Vehicle MCTR-7200MP-VD55 dual channel car radio and the 7200MP-VS50 single channel car radio.

SDR is designed to offer secure and reliable communication on the battlefield.

Last month, the company won contract for the supply of his exact guided mortar ammunition (GMM), STYLET. The contract was awarded by an undiscovered country in the Asia-Pacific region.
