Outrage after ‘cop’ filmed slapping and pulling his gun on Bentley driver

South Africans want an unidentified police officer to be found and fired after a video surfaced showing a police officer attacking a man behind the wheel of a Bentley.

Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula intervened to try to find the driver of the Bentley, who was attacked by a man with a gun wearing a road officer’s uniform.

The cop was filmed by a camera that hit a man driving a Bentley and instructed him to get in his car in Zulu.

In a short video posted by journalist Nomsa Maseko, the policeman slammed the driver’s door and cursed him before pulling out his gun. The officer picks up his firearm and points it at the driver and yells for him to leave.

Maseko posted the video Sunday morning, calling it an “abuse of power.”

Minister Mbalula requested that more details be sent to him about the incident so that he could investigate the matter.

“We will investigate, but he is not a cop, he is a robber,” Mbalula wrote on Twitter.

Some Twitter users have expressed outrage at the officer’s violent behavior, while others say they are not shocked because police brutality is commonplace in South Africa.
