Ultralife Corporation Awarded $4.2 Million Communications Systems Leader Radio Order
NEWARK, New York, October 26, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – Ultralife Corporation (NASDAQ: ULBI) received a purchase order worth approximately $ 4.2 million to supply its Thales Defense Amplifier Adapters (“VAA”) & Security, Inc., a world leader in the development, production and maintenance of battle-proven, software-defined radio equipment for the US Army’s Leader Radio program. Deliveries are expected to begin in 2022.
The Army’s decision to begin production of Leader Radio at full speed after operational tests and assessments provides soldiers with the most up-to-date radio networking capabilities available for improved situational awareness, which is critical to the mission’s success. Dual-channel software-defined radio provides both data and voice communication through multiple waveforms, allowing the soldier to use one radio instead of the two currently needed for voice and data. Ultralife’s VAA platform provides the soldier with an enhanced range of digital voice and information communications and operational flexibility.
“We are delighted to receive this follow-up order, which demonstrates the effectiveness of our strategy to develop new products to design and build technically advanced, integrated communication systems in collaboration with our strategic partners,” said Michael D. Popielek, President of Ultralife and CEO. “With the US military’s decision to start production at full speed, we look forward to our continued involvement in this multi-year program.
