The efficiency-based logistics contract for Telephonics covers support for USN MH-60R and MH-60S helicopter radar and communication systems.
Telephonics Corporation supplies its AN / APS-153 (V) Multi-Mode Marine Surveillance Radar (MMR) and Communication System Control (CSCG) products for USN MH-60R and MH-60S Seahawk helicopters, under a maintenance contract from the leading integrator Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems.
The initial logistics contract, based on implementation, is for a period of five years until 2025 plus a two-year option, Telephonics announced on April 19, with current funding lagging $ 84 million.
Telephonics will support the maintenance requirements of the MH-60R and MH-60S by placing spare parts orders, supplying test equipment, and completing repairs or replacing critical MMR or CSCG components.
AN / APS-153 (V) provides MH-60R flight crews with improved awareness of the coast and marine domains. It is fully integrated into Lockheed Martin’s overall cockpit avionics package MH-60R, notes Shephard Defense Insight, and is controlled by the on-board mission computer with returns displayed on color multifunction displays, providing the crew with independent radar data views.
Telephonics described the CSCG as a “communications support” for the MH-60R and MH-60S, providing crews with access to military and civilian air traffic control stations, radio navigation equipment and on-board intercom networks.
