Ondas Receives Purchase Order from Major European Rail Customer | News
NANTUCKET, Massachusetts – (BUSINESS WIRE) – June 22, 2021 –
Ondas Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: ONDS), developer of its own software-based wireless broadband technology for large established and emerging industrial markets, announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary, Ondas Networks Inc., has received its first purchase order from a major European rail client for its private wireless network technology FullMAX MC-IoT.
“Ondas is focusing on bringing critical IoT (MC-IoT) technology to market in industrial and government markets with an initial focus on the major North American rail markets,” said Eric Brock, chairman and CEO of Ondas Holdings Inc. “Our success here with Class 1 railroads allows for a new adoption outside of North America. Railway operators in Europe face many of the same challenges as our Class 1 customers. We look forward to working closely with this customer, providing a crucial new data capacity and network flexibility through our next-generation FullMAX industrial wireless platform. .
Mr Brock concluded, “Ondas FullMAX MC-IoT technology is key to unlocking the high performance and security of industrial networks in the future by optimizing the valuable spectral assets that are already available to our customers.”
High-tech technologies are expanding in scope and number, creating the need for new broadband private wireless data networks in European railway markets. The adoption of smarter rail systems cannot be achieved by legacy GSMR networks in Europe or by the future transition to 5G technologies. New railway applications require highly reliable data connections over a very large range and wide field areas. 5G networks are specially designed for high data transmission capacity in a very short range and do not meet many of the critical requirements. In addition, ubiquitous 5G networks will take years or even decades to deploy on a railroad. Meanwhile, just as in North America, European rail infrastructure companies control units with low-frequency, high-performance spectrum assets that are underutilized by inherited narrowband wireless technologies. Ondas FullMAX’s software-defined wireless platform is designed to unlock the full capabilities of this existing spectrum and provide much higher data network capacity, performance and reliability.
About Ondas Holdings Inc.
Ondas Holdings Inc., through its wholly owned subsidiary, Ondas Networks Inc., is the developer of its own software-based wireless broadband technology for large established and emerging industrial markets. The standards-based multipatented, software-defined FullMAX radio platform enables mission-critical IoT (MC-IoT) applications by overcoming the bandwidth limitations of today’s legacy privately licensed wireless networks. Ondas Networks’ customer markets include railways, utilities, oil and gas, transportation, aviation (including drone operators) and government entities whose requirements cover a wide range of critical applications. These markets require reliable, secure broadband communication in large and diverse geographical areas, many of which are in challenging radio frequencies. Customers use the company’s FullMAX technology to deploy their own licensed broadband wireless networks. The company also offers critical network service to mission-critical sites.
Ondas Networks’ FullMAX technology supports IEEE 802.16s, the new global standard for privately licensed large-scale industrial networks. For more information, visit www.ondas.com or follow Ondas Networks on Twitter and LinkedIn.
