Myriota taps Spire Global for global satellite expansion
Myriota has struck a new deal with Spire Global to improve its global satellite network.
Cheap but stable on Myriota Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity helps customers track, locate and monitor a wide range of assets, including vehicles, wind turbines, delivery containers and more.
In addition to providing affordable IoT connectivity, Myriota eliminates the need for a terrestrial satellite infrastructure. As part of the new deal, Myriota will use Spire’s space services and low-Earth orbit nanosatellites to develop a global, low-altitudelatency constellation.
The constellation Spire from low-Earth orbital nanosatellites software-Defined radio (SDR) technology, allowing partners to test, deploy, run and scale custom applications. Over 110 satellites measure temperature, pressure and humidity at over 10,000 intervals per day, allowing a holistic 3D time profile.
Using the company’s 300-year legacy of space flight, the Spire programmable, reprogrammable in orbit, provides flexible space operations. Based on Spire’s space capabilities as a service, Myriota plans to quickly and efficiently expand its IoT services to meet global demand.
Myriota-Spire’s global partnership also aims to increase Myriota’s customer base outside of North America, Australia and New Zealand.
“We are proud that our satellites and technologies are ready to seamlessly help Myriota make smart devices more accessible to all,” said Teresa Condor, executive vice president and general manager of space services and ground intelligence at Spire.
“Australia is a hotbed of innovative companies and is happy to help a leading satellite provider to enter the market quickly and expand effectively.”
Myriota is Spire’s first large-scale commercial customer of IoT.
“With the strong demand for the Myriota network from our partners, who are launching products at an ever-faster pace, this agreement is changing the game for our business,” said Dr. David Haley. CTO and co-founder of Myriota.
“Using the constellation of Spire, Myriota will quickly improve its services and enter new markets such as Europe. Spire is the perfect partner to expand our global reach. ”
