BEL achieves record turnover of Rs 13,500 crore in FY21

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], April 2 (ANI): Reverse Defense PSU Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) achieved a turnover of 13,500 kroner in the financial year 2020-21 compared to 12,608 kroner in the previous fiscal year.

This was despite the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic and intense competition in business, the company said in a statement.

In 2020-21, the company secured significant orders worth 15,000 kroner, taking its order book up to 53,000 rupees.

Some of the main orders acquired during the year were ICU fans, software-defined radio and communications equipment, various types of radar, sonar, torpedo lures, e-warfare systems, network and encryption products, and smart cities.

BEL had export sales of $ 50 million (approximately R3,363 crores) during FY21. The main products exported include coastal surveillance system, radio reception modules, bharati radio, friend or enemy identification, electro-optical system , compact multifunctional advanced stabilization system (EOS CoMPASS), electromechanical parts, radar printing system, low frequency receivers and spare parts for radars.

BEL Chairman and Managing Director MV Gowtama said that BEL will continue its efforts to become independent by focusing more on indigenization, outsourcing local industry with a greater focus on MSM and GeM supplies, and thus minimizing of import dependence.

“The company is ready to explore and exploit new areas of growth and new business paths through continuous diversification, capability and competitiveness improvement and modernization.” BEL is a state-owned space and defense company with nine factories producing advanced electronic products for the Indian Armed Forces.

It manufactures electronic communication equipment such as HF / VHF communication transmitters and receivers, HF / VHF microwave radio relays and radars, and electronic components needed mainly by the defense services as well as the entertainment industry.
