Analog Devices and Keysight Collaborate to Speed Development of O-RAN Solutions

WILMINGTON, Massachusetts & GRANDFATHER ROSE, CA – (() –Analog Devices, Inc. (Nasdaq: ADI) and Keysight Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: KEYS), today announced a collaboration that accelerates network interoperability and compliance testing of Open RAN radio units (O-RU).

Companies are collaborating to create a robust test bench to test the interoperability of a new O-RU that includes a low PHY baseband, software-defined transceiver, power and clock integrated with Intel© FPGA. Applying Keysight’s Open RAN emulation capabilities, signal generation capabilities, and signal analysis to a wide range of applications improves the testing process, reducing complexity and testing time.

“We are pleased to align our resources with ADI, a leader in O-RU technology solutions, to help service providers realize the full potential of O-RAN specifications,” said Kailash Narayanan, vice president and general manager of Keysight’s Commercial. Communications Group. “Keysight and ADI offer technology and test solutions that create an effective bridge between the radio and the core network, leading to accelerated interoperability development and testing.”

Open RAN technology is expected to account for more than 10 percent of the total market for a radio access network by 2025, according to Dell-Oro Group. The collaboration between ADI and Keysight examines the commercial opportunities in this industry, which is moving to open, disaggregated, and virtualized RAN (vRAN) architectures.

“As a result of combining our technologies, tools and design resources, ADI and Keysight are able to provide the O-RAN ecosystem with a robust platform for rapidly developing reliable O-RUs,” said Joe Barry, vice president of wireless communications at Analog Devices. . “Working together, we offer our customers the fastest way to develop cost-effective, energy-efficient and interoperable O-RANs based on O-RAN.”

Open RAN infrastructure based on O-RAN ALLIANCE open interfaces,, enables mobile operators to create a stable, multi-provider networked environment designed to streamline the provision of advanced 5G services to businesses in manufacturing, finance, transportation, logistics and healthcare. Validating O-RU performance and testing interoperability between network elements from the edge of the RAN to the 5G core (5GC) allows mobile operators to effectively deploy O-RAN in 5G networks with different providers.
