MoD, BEL ink ₹1,000-cr pact to procure Software Defined Radio

The Ministry of Defense (MoD) and Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) have signed a contract for the order of software-defined radio tactics (SDR-Tac) worth over 1,000 kroner. SDR-Tac, designed and developed by the Laboratory for Defense Applications of Electronics by the Organization for Defense Research and Development through a consortium of local agencies and industry (Association of Engineering Weapons and Electronic Systems, Bharat Electronics Limited, Center for Artificial Intelligence and robotics and the Indian Navy).

In a regulatory statement, the company said: “The delivery will be within three years. BEL delivers the SDRNaval Combat version and SDR-Air is in the process of being evaluated by users. DRDO and BEL will provide the latest SDRs to the Indian Navy. “
